The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him sent Abū-’Ubaydah Ibnul-Jarrāḥ to Bahrain, from where he returned with some money. al-Anṣār (Supporters of Madīnah) heard of the arrival of Abū-’Ubaydah, and came to perform the dawn prayer (1) with the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him. After the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, prayed, he was about to leave when they stood in his way. Upon seeing them, the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, smiled and said, "You probably heard that Abū-’Ubaydah has returned with something." They replied, "Yes, Messenger of God." He said. "Then, rejoice and expect what would please you. For by God, it is not poverty I fear for you, rather, I fear that the world will be unfurled for you as it was unfurled for those who preceded you, and you will compete for it as they competed, then it will destroy you as it destroyed them.” Footnotes: (1) (Fajr) The first prescribed prayer of the day that takes place before sunrise.
